Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA and senior party leader Pir Kashif Chishti has submitted his resignation to the party leadership on Friday. Kashif Chishti had been elected to the Punjab Assembly from PP-195, Arifwala. This is the fourth time he has been elected as an MPA from the same constituency while his father Pir Allah Yar Chishti was elected to the provincial assembly five times. Pir Ali Gauhur Chishti, his uncle, had been elected as an MPA unopposed. One of his uncles, Pir Ghulam Ali Chishti, also served as Member National Assembly. Similarly his grandfather Pir Gulab Ali Chishti has also remained an MNA. Chishti’s resignation came as part of the PML-N’s strategy before the Senate elections in March next year.
