Pakistan Muslim League -N President Shehbaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday agreed to a joint strategy against the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.
The PML-N president along with, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Ayaz Sadiq called on the JUI-F chief in Islamabad. During the meeting, they discussed all relevant issues, including the convening of an all-party conference of the opposition.
After the meeting, talking to the media, Rehman said, “We will bring together the political parties in and outside the Parliament on one platform.”
He said that there is an agreement on the movement against the government but, it is necessary to talk about the procedure.
“The current situation demands that we remove mutual reservations,” he said. “The division of the opposition is not in the country’s interest. We had called a meeting of the smaller opposition parties, which has been postponed for a few days due to the death of Mir Hasil Bizenjo”
Rahman further added that the opposition will formulate joint and stable strategy and there would be an APC wherein decisions would be taken in the presence and
consultation of all parties.
The PML-N president said that “Prime Minister Imran Khan had been declared as the man of the year on the basis of incompetence”. Thousands of megawatts of power plants were installed under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, he claimed.
“We ended the load shedding but today it is occurring again,” Did the Chinese scandal happen in our time? Was there a shortage of wheat in our time?”
“We had a good conversation [with Fazl] and are in consensus. We will sit together with other opposition parties and take this consultation session forward,” he said
Fazl, adding to Shehbaz’s remarks, said that they had a good meeting and that the opposition was well on their way to arriving at a common platform.
“We had already called a meeting of the smaller opposition parties for today; however, it was postponed due to Mir Hasil Bizenjo’s death. The meeting will now be held at a later date,” he said. He added that opposition parties were

firm on working together towards a joint strategy. “We want all the opposition parties united on a joint strategy,” Fazl said.
