RAWALPINDI – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, and senior civilian and military officials attended the funerals of soldiers who were martyred in Kurram blast.
Sepoy Haroon William, along with four other soldiers, was martyred in the Sadda area of Kurram District, as reported by military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Minister of Defence, Interior, and Information and Broadcasting also attended the event. During the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the significant contributions of the Christian community to Pakistan’s development and praised their service and sacrifices.
PM Sharif highlighted unity within Pakistan’s Armed Forces, comprising individuals from various backgrounds dedicated to defending the nation.
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir also paid tribute to Sepoy Haroon William, Sepoy Anosh Rufun, and their fellow soldiers for their bravery and solidarity in adversity.
The top general emphasized nation’s deep gratitude for their unwavering dedication and sacrifices for Pakistan’s honor and security.
Separate ceremonies with full military honors were also held for Havaldar Aqeel Ahmed of Okara, Lance Naik Muhammad Tafeer of Poonch, Sepoy Anosh Rufun of Attock, and Sepoy Muhammad Azam Khan of Haripur.
