Japan envoy hosts reception to celebrate Emperor Naruhito’s 63rd birthday

Ambassador of Japan Wada Mitsuhiro on Thursday hosted a reception at Serena Hotel to celebrate the 63rd Birthday of the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito,

Federal Minister for Human Rights, Riaz Hussain Pirzada was the chief guest on the occasion. The reception was attended by a large number of guests including ministers, parliamentarians, senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, civil society organizations’ representatives, religious leaders, the Japan nationals and a large number of the Pakistani businessmen. They congratulated Ambassador Naruhito on the happy occasion and wished the Emperor of Japan a long, happy and healthy life. While addressing the reception as Chief Guest, Riaz Hussain Pirzada said people of Pakistan were indebted to the Japan government for its contributions and assistance in diverse areas, particularly industry and infrastructure through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

He said Pakistan attached great value and importance to its relations with Japan as the country has always promoted peace and harmony in the world. Pirzada extended the warmest felicitations to the government and the people of Japan on the joyous occasion in the following words: “We honour the rich cultural heritage of Japan, a country that has made immeasurable contributions to the world especially, in the scientific domain. The Japanese people are known for their deep respect for traditions and their untiring commitment to innovation.” Earlier, Ambassador Wada together with the distinguished guests cut a cake to mark His Majesty the Emperor’s Birthday. Since his accession to the throne on 1st May 2019 as the 126th monarch, Emperor Naruhito stands as the symbol of Japan and the unity of the people. His Majesty and the Imperial Family also facilitate good relations with foreign countries including Pakistan.

While welcoming the guests on the occasion, Ambassador Wada stressed Japanese businesses’ high expectation of new business opportunities in Pakistan, referring to recent investments by Japanese companies.
