The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) will remain on ‘high alert’ during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays (June 16-20, 2024), according to a notification issued by the hospital here Saturday.

The measure has been taken to meet gastro patients as a result of over-eating during the Eid holidays.

Every year, an overwhelming number of gastro patients and those with upset stomachs arrive at the hospital and sometimes create an emergency situation.

These patients are usually those who do overeating and as a result suffer from different kinds of medical and health problems.

The departments of Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic and General Surgery have been requested to depute the maximum number of staff for on call duties.

According to the notification, the shift/emergency staff will perform their duties as usual. All the heads of clinical and non-clinical departments as well as the supervisory staff of the hospital have been requested to issue an Emergency Duty Roster in this regard.
