The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi in a meeting at Idara Noor-e-Haq discussed issues relating toCovid-19 and increasing number of cases in Sindh.City President PIMA, Professor Azeem-ud-din informed JI Karachi Ameer, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman that initially lockdown decision was taken scientifically but later both federal and Sindh government got late for proper implementation and follow up.
In addition, no further inventiveness was seen for capacity building of professionals, provisions of health safety gears, ventilators, Personal Protective Equipment kits, masks and all other health allied in this direction, he said.Situation in small cities is more fragile and medical professionals are worried on it and a complete lockdown for the time being is the only solution to slowdown spread of endemic, he advised.
“We demand both governments to ensure implementation of Standard Operating Procedure at all workplaces and commercial sites where resumption of economic are allowed”, Prof Azeem said.
