Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather update; cold wave persists

PESHAWAR – Cold and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday with experts predicting the prevailing harsh weather conditions to persist during the next couple of days.
Moderate to dense fog continued to disturb normal vehicular movement in the plains of the province from late night to early morning.
Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 04 degrees Celsius below freezing.
In Peshawar, the mercury dropped to 07 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 72 per cent.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening/night, Monday and Tuesday.
Freezing weather is likely in upper districts.
Fog is likely to persist in Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan during morning and night hours.
Less visibility will affect normal vehicular flow on inter and intra-city roads.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 05-07 C on Monday and 06-08 C on Tuesday.
