Tens of people took to the streets of Kabul on Sun-day, January 2, 2022, and asked for the US sanc-tions on Afghanistan to be lifted.
The protesters said that the US must lift imposed sanctions and ease economic pressures on Afghani-stan and allow the Afghan people to rebuild their country. It comes as the US has frozen nearly ten billion dollars of Afghanistan’s assets and has imposed sanctions on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
In the meantime, the stoppage of foreign aids to Afghanistan has crippled the already fragile eco-nomic system of Afghanistan and has adversely affected the lives of millions of people. On Sunday, the protestors said that US’s sanctions on Afghanistan have affected the economic situation and have doubled trade problems.Earlier, hundreds of people had taken to the streets in Kabul and asked for the release of Afghanistan’s funds.—Agencies
