LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reached out to singer Ali Hamza for the creation of the anthem for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9.

Known for his hit “Par Chana De” from Coke Studio Season 9, Ali Hamza, a member of the band Noori, gained recognition during that season.

However, it is yet to be clear that whether PCB will finalize a contract with Ali Hamza for the PSL 9 anthem.

Known artists like Fawad Khan, Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig, Young Stunners, Asim Azhar, Arif Lohar, Shae Gill, and others had previously contributed to the league’s success with outstanding anthems.

Ali Hamza, the 43-year-old singer and brother of Ali Noor, who played a pivotal role in revolutionizing pop music in the early 2000s, got popular with the release of his album “Suno Ke Mein Hoon Jawan” in October 2003 as part of the rock band Noori.

Earlier, the PCB had approached Ali Zafar, renowned for his past PSL anthems. However, a female official of the franchise was not agree over his inclusion for PSL anthem this year.

Ali Zafar revealed challenges in creating the second anthem.

He said that despite working on it for two months and presenting multiple versions, a disagreement with a female artist associated with the PSL franchise ended his chance.

The PCB had informed Ali Zafar that he could not proceed with the anthem.
