LAHORE – The participation of Pakistani cricketers in the Zimbabwean city of Harare’s scheduled Zim Afro T10 League, starting September 21, is in question as the PCB refuses to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

The sources said that seven Pakistani cricketers have been selected for the Zim Afro League, including Shan Masood, Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Irfan, Sharjeel Khan, and Salman Irshad.

Shan Masood, Asif Ali, and Haider Ali are currently part of the teams in the PCB Champions One Day Cup taking place in Faisalabad. The Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet issued NOCs for the league.

The PCB officials argued that the Zim Afro T10 League has not yet received approval from the ICC, and therefore, NOCs cannot be issued.

No national cricketer would receive an NOC until the league is approved by the ICC.

If the PCB maintained its policy of not issuing NOCs, then only fast bowlers Mohammad Irfan and Salman Irshad, who are not currently contracted with the PCB, would be able to participate in the league.

On the other hand, a Zim Afro T10 League spokesperson said that the Zimbabwe Cricket Board, being a full member of the ICC, authorized the league, thus ICC approval is no longer required.
