KARACHI –  More than 47 visas were discovered on the mobile phone of a passenger departing for abroad from Karachi Airport, the media reports said on Thursday.

The FIA Immigration arrested the passenger at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. The mobile phone of the passenger contained over 47 visas.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the man was identified as Aliyan Zaman.

Aliyan was traveling to Malaysia on a visit visa. He had planned to use an agent’s assistance to attempt to travel from Malaysia to the UK. Aliyan, who is from Attock, had already paid Rs400,000 to an agent residing in Attock, with a total of Rs2.8 million due. The payments were made through cash and microfinance accounts.

The FIA also said that a Cambodia visa was found with the suspect, and over 47 Cyprus visas were recovered from the mobile phone.

“These visas were in the names of Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals,” said the officials.

Aliyan, they said, could not satisfy the immigration authorities regarding the visas. He moved to the HTC Karachi for further action.
