Burgers are famous across globe as they combine a variety of flavors and textures and this fast food item in China is getting a flavor boost with Donkey Meat from Pakistan.
The development holds key importance in agricultural trade, as donkey meat and hides will exported to China after signing of new MoU between two nations. It was reported Pakistan’s Ministry of National Food Security and Research and China’s General Administration of Customs, outlines the necessary quarantine requirements for these exports.
Hangeng Group and other firms will reportedly engage in donkey meat trade, and a slaughterhouse will be formed in Gwadar Free Zone, which have the capacity to process over 2lac donkeys.
The South Asian nation is home around 60 lac donkeys, while China became major market for their meat and hides. In Pakistan, consuming donkey meat is considered forbidden as per religious beliefs but in China, it is a popular delicacy, while people feast on Burgers.
Besides the donkey meat consumption, donkey hides are also valued in traditional Chinese medicine.
In recent years, Donkey farms are being established in Pakistan as new trade agreement aim to expand opportunities for Pakistan’s agricultural and medicinal exports.
