Funeral prayers of martyred army personnel were offered on Monday at Peshawar Garrison, reported the military’s media wing.
A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said funeral of five Pakistani army soldiers was held as the brave sons of soil were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists during an operation in the general area of Bagh, Khyber district.
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Peshawar Corps Commander, and a large number of military and civil officials attended the funeral.
Those who were martyred include Namaz-e-Janaza of Sepoy Taimoor Shaheed (age 32, resident of district Layyah), Sepoy Nadir Sagheer Shaheed (age 22, resident district Bagh), Sepoy Muhammad Yaseen Shaheed (age 23, resident of district Khushab), Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar Shaheed (age 30, resident of district Poonch) and Naik Ashfaq Butt Shaheed (age 32, resident of district Kahuta).
Army Chief also visited CMH Peshawar to inquire about the well being of troops injured during the operation.
The top general commended high morale of martyred officers and reaffirmed resolve of the Nation to fight the terrorism with full vigor and spirit.
Shuhada will be laid to rest with full military honor at their respective native towns, ISPR said.
