Speakers including former diplomats, foreign policy experts and defence analysts have termed the takeover of Afghanistan by Taliban a watershed event and turning point in Pakistan’s foreign policy towards the war-torn country.
They expressed these views while addressing the launching ceremony of the book titled Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations: Pitfalls and the Way Forward’ at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI). Both the ISSI and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), Pakistan had organized the launch.
The book is authored by Dr Huma Baqai, Associate Professor Social Sciences, IBA Karachi and Dr Nausheen Wasi, Assistant Professor, Department of International Relations, University of Karachi.
During his welcome remarks, Director General ISSI, Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry appreciated the work FES has done in Pakistan.
