Lahore

Vice Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA-Northern Region), Chaudhry Muhammad Fargham has sending high and overcharged electricity bills to poultry industry which supplies prime quality protein food in the form of poultry meat and eggs, at a very affordable price is unjustified.
He said that Pakistan Poultry has an annual turnover of over 1000 Billion rupees, gives employment to over 1.5 million people directly and indirectly.
In a press briefing here on Tuesday, he said that poultry farmers are facing heavy losses due to Coronavirus and due to less consumption of chicken meat, whole poultry business has been collapsed.
In order to rescue the Poultry Industry from prevailing crisis and cater to regular production to ensure a continuous supply, it is very important to solve major issues being faced by Poultry Industry.
Ch Fargham said that it is observed that from last one and half years, about 55% of electricity bills are increased. For the last few months electric supply companies (FESCO, GEPCO, HESCO, SEPCO, LESCO, KESCO, MEPCO, PESCO, QESCO & TESCO) are over billing and overcharging the entire poultry sector which is not justified. He further said that poultry farmers are already facing acute poultry problems and over billing in electricity bills will only cause over burden on poultry farmers.
