In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops have arrested more than 50 innocent youth in the name of questioning in Rajouri district.
The arrests were made during the ongoing joint cordon and search operations being conducted by Indian army, police and Central Reserve Police Force in over two dozen villages in Rajouri. Special operational teams of Indian police have also been deployed at designated locations in the district.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Mohammad Aslam confirmed to the media that “the operation is going on at a massive scale. He said additional CRPF personnel along with police have been deployed in sensitive areas to strengthen vigil. The SSP said the arrests were made in connection with the recent attacks in Dhangri village of Rajouri district.
Officials said that additional police and paramilitary personnel have also deployed at border posts “as part of en-hanced security near the Line of Control (LoC)”.
Meanwhile, weapons and firing training were given to the newly-recruited government gunmen Village Defense Guards in Mahadev Menka firing range in Sunderbani sector this morning. Over 50 VDGs, drawn from different villages along the Line of Control, took part in the army-run firing practice session which was held in coordination with police, the officials added.—KMS
