The world is observing the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, while women in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to be haunted by Indian state terrorism, injustice, atrocities, fear, agony, mourning and howls of pain inflicted by India.

India has designed its own legal license by draconian laws to target the sanctity and dignity of the Kashmiri women.

Particularly after August 5, 2019, the Modi regime, Indian army, paramilitary and police personnel and their agencies have legal cover to openly pursue their evil agenda by targeting, detaining and passing derogatory remarks about the Kashmiri women while ignoring their social, human and other rights.

The report said, over 2,348 women had been martyred and 11,256 molested by the Indian troops in the occupied territory since 1989. Indian state terrorism has rendered 22,952 Kashmiri women widowed in the past 34 years. It deplored that India was using molestation of women as a weapon of war in the occupied territory.

The report added that over two dozen women, including 63-year-old Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi have been facing illegal detention in Indian infamous Tihar Jail for the last over five years.

India is using molestation of women as a weapon of war in IIOJK, the report said and added that the Kashmiri women were mentally tortured through killing, arresting and enforced disappearances of their loved ones.

It said Indian troops are routinely subjecting the Kashmiri women to sexual harassment to humiliate the Kashmiris. The world human rights bodies need to come forward to restrict India from committing heinous crimes and gross human rights violations against the Kashmiri women, the report stressed.

The APHC leader, Zamrooda Habib and Yasmeen Raja in their separate statements appealed to the international community to intervene and use their influence in halting the ongoing killing spree, Indian state terrorism, injustice and atrocities on women in IIOJK.—INP
