Opposition parties breeds on the use the status quo, they are the biggest beneficiary of 70 years old bogus system and they don’t want to disrupt it by accepting the use of EVM in next election,” this was stated by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Hassan Khawar on the certificate distribution ceremony of five-day training electronic media workshop arranged by Women Media Centre in Lahore.
Khawar said that broadband user in Pakistan are around 9 to 10 crores and the use of smart phones in Pakistan will rise to 74% because the technology in Pakistan is getting cheaper thus the use of EVM is way more easy then the use of a smart phone.
Adding to this he stated that opposition thinks that EVM can get hack, however the possibility of hacking or breaking a EVM for personal agenda is impossible.
He said that conducting election is the responsibility of election commission and PTI is only introducing an edit feature in it, which will eventually keep the track of votes and voters.
He also applauded the efforts of WMC for training and enlightening the next generation of female journalists.
Khawar stated that WMC is engaging the youth in a positive active through these workshops.He concluded the five-day electronic media workshop by distributing the certificates among participants.
The theme of this training workshop held at a local hotel in Lahore was “Freedom of Expression: Reliability of Digital Media Landscape”. Women journalists and students from major universities of the city are participating in this workshop.
The main objective of the workshop was to provide training and practical opportunities for media-connected students so that women can prove their selves by displaying their talents in the field of journalism.
