Ongoing development projects to be completed in March: Dar

The Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar Thursday said that re-carpeting of the Kashmir road, Defense road and Khadim Ali road after laying sewer lines there and completion of the Shahbpura Flyover would be completed in March 2022.

He said that during a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner Officer Office to review the pace of work at different development projects under the City Development Package. The SAPM Usman Dar further said that the completion of the mentioned projects would not only enhance the look of Sialkot as a beautiful and modern city but it would also help in solving old traffic and sewerage related civic problems.

He said that no slackness in the timely completion of the development projects would be accepted and in the best interest of the public a weekly review meeting would be held in order to review the pace of works and to ensure the timely completion of the projects. He also warned that no compromise would be made over the quality of the works at the development projects.

He also said that Kashmir road would be made a ‘model road’ and in order to make it signal-free three c-turns, service roads and pedestrian bridges would also be constructed over there. The SAPM Usman Dar said that for the completion of the project of Shahbpura Flyover the Federal Minister for Railways Azam Sawati would soon be contacted in order to get non-objection certificate (NOC) from the department of Railways and after the completion of the flyover Defense road would be reopened for the public in March 2022.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sialkot Tahir Farooq, the Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Muhammad Murtaza, the Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Sialkot Zubair Watto and others attended the meeting. Meanwhile, the SAPM Usman Dar, Special Advisor to Chief Minister on Investment Ahsan Salim Baryar and DC Tahir Farooq inaugurated the new office of Sialkot Waste Management Company (SWMC).
