Associate adviser to Federal Ombudsman Regional Office Karachi, Riaz Ahmed Memon on Tuesday visited different passport offices in the metropolis to inspect the process of issuance of important travel document to citizens.
Memon visited regional Passport Office Saddar, and South, Central, West and government servants and senior citizens branches. He, accompanied with Ombudsman secretariat regional office’s focal person for media Taqi Muhammad Soomro and other officials, inspected information counter, National Bank fee collection centers and passport delivery counters house in the premises of the regional center Saddar.
They observed working of the offices and facilities being provided to applicants while Director and other officials of Immigration department briefed the associate adviser about process and policy governing the issuance of the passport.
Riaz Memon also met with applicants present there and inquired from them about the service standards and any issues faced by them in the offices. The associate adviser on suggestion of an applicant directed concerned officials to make arrangements for setting up a prayer area to facilitate the applicants.
He held meeting with officials at the aforementioned branches of passport office and also personally observed the entire process from submission to acceptance of application for issuance of basic travel document including data entry, biometric and photo-capturing, and scrutiny of documents.
