The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) has offered in collaboration with the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) six-month free language certificate courses for the students of grade IX-XII studying in the educational institutions under the administrative control of the FDE.

The courses will be offered in the following five languages: Arabic, Korean, Japanese, German and Chinese.

The Education Ministry has uploaded a proforma too on its website with the directions to the FDE to disseminate the information among the students and encourage them to participate in the course. The students are advised to submit their application form by August 2, 2024.

Meanwhile, as per the directions of the Federal Minister of Education, the Ministry of the Federal Education and Professional Training has undertaken rehabilitation (overhauling, repairing, denting painting etc) of 45 out-of-order dysfunctional buses which are now set to move on roads with the start of the new academic session starting from August 5, Monday. With these buses addition to the FDE’s fleet students of the far flung areas will heave a sigh of relief as absence of buses was causing major inconvenience to the students living in the suburbs of the capital.

According to an official of the Ministry, these buses were dysfunctional and almost grounded for the last ten years but currently they are undergoing repairs and rehabilitation and once their fault is removed they would be refurbished and upgraded to pick and drop students, teachers and the school staff etc.

These buses will be back on the road within a week, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our students, the official further said.

Besides overhaul of the buses, around 200 drivers and conductors have been hired through a third-party service to address the human resource deficiency in our school bus fleet. This will enable us to provide efficient and timely transportation services to our students.

The ministry is committed to providing quality education and ensuring the well-being of our students. These initiatives are a testament to their dedication to improving our education system.

We will continue to work tirelessly to provide a conducive learning environment and support services for our students, the official said.
