The life and personality of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUM) serve as a beacon of light for us and provide ample guidance in all spheres of life. These were the views of Prof Dr Hafiz Muhammad Zaheer, senior faculty member of the Dawah Academy, the International Islamic University (IIU), Islamabad, at a discussion organized by the Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC) at the Aiwan-e-Quaid in connection with the 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal celebrations.

Dr Zaheer was invited by the NPC as Chief Guest to inspire the audience with glimpses from the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) life and share with them the examples set by the Prophet (PBUHM) for others to lead a pious and peaceful life in accordance with the principles of Islam.

Chairman of the NPC Mian Muhammad Javed presided over the discussion while eminent speakers including noted poets such as WafaChishti, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Ali Ahmed Qamar, IrfanJamil, Abdul QadirTaban and others.

Prof DrZaheer emphasized on the glorious aspects of ‘tolerance’ and ‘magnanimity’ in the Holy Prophet’s personality. It was because of these two important aspects of his personality that everyone felt attracted towards him and adopted his way of life, said Prof Zaheer.

He said all our troubles and problems could find their solution in following the Holy Prophet’s personality, his thoughts and views. We must be patient, tolerant and accommodating in order to create space for other religions and people with differences of opinions.

Mian Muhammad Javed, the NPC Chairman was of the view that the NPC since its establishment had been seeking guidance from the life and personality of Hazrat Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him and trying to inculcate in people the principles set by the glorious religion of Islam.

The NPC will continue to adhere to these principles and promote the enlightened face of Islam and make people, particularly the youth, aware of Islam’s message of peaceful co-existence with followers of other religions and respect for all. On the occasion, Fateha was offered for the departed soul and Founder Chairman of the NPC & Founder Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, Zahid Malik (late).
