At a condolence meeting, rich tributes were paid to well-known historian, educationist and author of a number of books on the Pakistan Movement and Founders of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Dr Safdar Mahmood who breathed his last recently.
The condolence meeting was organized by the Nazriya Pakistan Council at the Aiwan-e-Quaid Fatima Jinnah Park.
Chairman of the NPC Mian Muhammad Javed presided over the meeting while renowned scholar Prof Fateh Mohammad Malik and eminent poet Muhammad Izharul Haq were the chief guests.
In his presidential address, Mian Muhammad Javed urged the scholars and writers to follow the footsteps of Dr Safdar Mahmood so that patriotism, selflessness and unconditional love for Pakistan could be spread across the country which is the need of the hour.
Chief Guest Prof Fateh Muhammad Malik said late Dr. Safdar was a complete history of Pakistan having a prominent impression of the ideology as well as the basic objectives of the creation of Pakistan as a sovereign democratic Muslim state.
Muammad Izharul Haq said Dr Safdar lived like a warrior and defended the country’s ideological foundations and the Quaid against all those forces spreading doubts about the sovereignty of Pakistan.
Kanwer Dilshad said we should beware of all such elements which are working to weaken the roots of Pakistan. For this we should make it our mission to highlight the basic objectives of creation of Pakistan.
Javed Zafar Ex Federal Secretary, Mr. Lutfullah Ex Deputy Commissioner, well known columnist Asif Mehmood, also spoke on the works and contributions of Late Dr. Safdar Mahmood.
