The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) of HEC has launched the first cohort of In -Service National Faculty Development Programme (NFDP) for newly inducted faculty members of higher education institutions.
Twenty-two faculty members from public sector HEIs of Federal Capital, Rawalpindi, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and GilgitBaltistan are participating in this training, which will conclude on November 30, 2023.
NFDP aims to equip new faculty members with the strategies and tools to overcome challenges of learners and develop in students the critical thinking and practical skills required by the job market and society.
The inaugural ceremony of the programme was held at HEC Islamabad. Mr. Awais Ahmed, Adviser (Global Engagement and Quality Assurance) HEC presided over the ceremony as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Awais Ahmed highlighted the significant impact these programmes have on teachers and students’ learning achievements. Mr. Ahmed encouraged participants to actively engage in knowledge sharing and idea exchange during different sessions of the programme. He emphasized that this collaborative learning approach has a multiplier effect on the impact of training initiatives. “By fostering an environment where participants can share their knowledge, experiences, and ideas, the training programmes become more dynamic and effective,” he said.
Ms. Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director, NAHE welcomed the participants. She acknowledged the uniqueness and value of this opportunity and encouraged the participants to make the most of it. Ms. Malik highlighted that NAHE has engaged esteemed resource persons to deliver various modules, ensuring the highest quality of training.
To achieve learning objectives of the programme, a range of activities will be utilized.
