Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) CEO Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed represented Pakistan at the prestigious 17th Five-days Small Water and Wastewater Systems and 9th Resource-Oriented Sanitation conferences held in Curitiba in the Parana state of Brazil, from November 10 to 14.
His participation at this international gathering highlighted KW&SC’s commitment to sustainable water solutions and effective management strategies. During his address on “Water and Leadership: Improving Lives through Inclusive and Effective Management,” CEO Ahmed shared KW&SC’s achievements in delivering innovative and sustainable water services to Karachi. He emphasized KW&SC’s focus on sustainable solutions, which he said has turned the corporation into a recognized model of water management resilience despite Karachi’s ongoing water and sewerage challenges.
Engaging with global leaders, Ahmed discussed best practices that have propelled KW&SC’s international standing. A KW&SC spokesperson shared that under CEO Ahmed’s leadership, KW&SC has seen transformative improvements, including landmark reforms introduced under the KWSC Act 2023.
These reforms have spurred record increases in monthly revenue and strengthened global partnerships, marking a period of advancement in Karachi’s water infrastructure. The spokesperson further highlighted KW&SC’s drive to elevate Karachi’s water and sewerage standards to match international benchmarks.
Through innovative strategies and collaborations, KW&SC is paving the way for future foreign direct investment.
