Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said on Sunday that all necessary steps were being taken to ensure the provision of flour at fixed rate at pro-vincial and district levels. According to official sources, the CM said that subsidy was being provid-ed to common man through Ehsaas Programme so that people of urban and rural areas could be facilitated.
He said the Punjab government was ensuring provision of inexpensive flour to deserving people through Ehsaas Programme.
Entry in Ehsaas Programme could be made through CNIC to get targeted subsidy on flour, he said and added that daily official quota of flour had been doubled.
Pervez Elahi said that sale points had also been doubled across the province. He said that 1,840,000 bags of 10 kg flour would be available on daily basis in Punjab at government fixed rate.
Ch Pervez Elahi said that from tomorrow 26,000 tonnes of wheat would be released to flour mills more than their demand.
Increase in government wheat quota would reduce prices of private wheat and flour
reasonably, he added. Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi stated that monthly official quota for the flour mills has been doubly increased to ensure availability of wheat and flour adding that sale points have also been doubled across the province. 10 kg18 lac 40 thousand flour bags will be available at official rate on daily basis across Punjab.
CM apprised that flour mills will be released 26 thousand tonnes official wheat more than their demand adding that prices of local wheat and flour will decrease significantly by increasing the official quota.
CM highlighted that Punjab government is providing subsidy to a common man under Ehsaas Programme so that this benefit can reach up to cities and villages of the province.
CM intimated that poor people are being granted targeted subsidy for the provision of wheat at subsidised rates under Punjab Ehsaas Programme.CM emphasised that Punjab government is already ensuring provision of flour to the deserving persons at subsidised rates through Ehsaas Programme.
CM informed that inclusion in the Ehsaas Programme to get targeted subsidy on flour can be availed through CNIC number.CM underscored that all essential steps are being taken to ensure provision of flour to the people at the provincial and district level at a fixed price.
