The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), in collaboration with UNDP, will be conducting a two-day event to create a national policy framework and launch the report ‘Digitalization & Women in Pakistan’ on August 1st and 2nd at Marriott Hotel in Islamabad. Cognizant of the fact that the existing digital transformation is disproportionately impacting women of Pakistan due to gender-based inequalities, NCSW, with its strategic vision to reduce the gender gap in digitalization in Pakistan, formed a gender and digitalization consortium with UNDP, UN-WOMEN, UNFPA, and Jazz. The consortium aims to break the gender digital divide to allow women equal access and benefits of digital transformation in Pakistan. Through this joint initiative, NCSW produced a comprehensive report, “Digitalization and Women in Pakistan,” as a result of a rigorous country-wide consultative process in February 2023, engaging public and private sectors, civil society, academia, media and think tanks, etc.
