PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif on Friday urged the political parties and the independent candidates who won the elections to sit together and jointly form the next government, ‘Unity Govt’ to steer the country out of crises.
Nawaz Sharif said he has tasked Shehbaz Sharif to meet Asif Ail Zardari, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in this regard.
“The PML-N has emerged as the single largest political party in this election,” said Nawaz Sharif while delivering a victory speech at the party’s secretariat in Model Town on Friday. PML-N
President Shehbaz Sharif, Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, other party leaders and workers were present there.
The PML-N supremo admitted that the PML-N did not have a simple majority that it could form the government. “It would have been quite good if we had achieved the simple majority,” said Nawaz Sharif, making it clear that alone they could not form the government.
“I invite all other parties who won this election to come and sit with us, so jointly we could make a government for the sake of the country,” said Nawaz Sharif, urging the parties to work for Pakistan and its development. “You will hear this news very soon as I have given this task to Shehbaz,” said Nawaz.
However, in his speech, Nawaz Sharif did not mention Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. While addressing the charged workers, Nawaz said that he was seeing light in their eyes—such a light that wanted to make Pakistan more beautiful and enlightened.
“I from myself, from Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam congratulate you over this victory and mandate,” said Nawaz Sharif.
He said they respected the mandate of all political parties and the candidates who won this election and therefore they extended the invitation to them.
“A prosperous Pakistan is the PML-N’s agenda and the people know what the PML-N has done for the country. The work and the development projects are before the people,” he added.
“You better know the role of our party for economic and social development,” said the PML-N Supremo, pointing out that there is a record.
