British High Commissioner Jane Marriott called on Pakistan Muslim League-N Supremo and former three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on Monday.
The meeting focused on the exchange of views on mutual interest.
PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz Sharif were also present there during the meeting. Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of strong relations between both Pakistan and the United Kingdom, saying that such ties are in the best interests of both the nations. He acknowledged the significant role played by Pakistani citizens in the UK in strengthening the friendship between both the countries.
They also discussed the need to promote relations in various sectors, including trade and investment between Pakistan and the UK. British High Commissioner Jane Marriott said that she held meetings with various political parties in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. She discussed the upcoming general elections on February 8, emphasizing their significance for the future of the country. Marriott also conveyed congratulations to Nawaz Sharif on various legal victories.
