Pakistan Muslim League-N Supremo and former three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on wednesday denied allegations of conspiracies against ex-army and intelligence chiefs during his tenure as the country’s premier.
“I never engaged in plots against Gen (retd) Bajwa and Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid nor did I conspire against Gen (retd) Raheel Sharif”. However, he said that he did not want revenge but called for disclosure of the conspirators’ names. “I do not want revenge but those who are responsible must be held accountable,” said the PML-N Supremo while addressing the participants of the party’s parliamentary board held to decide the fates of the candidates from Sahiwal. Nawaz Sharif said, “I don’t have the right to pardon those who are enemies of the people,” adding that whatever happened to him or his family was now the past. He stated that the entire nation faced the consequences after his ouster.
Talking about the legal developments in two references including Al-Azizia and Avenfield, the PML-N Supremo was of the view, “There was nothing substantive in these cases; their hollowness was proven in the high court,”.
