Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday declared that the nation has unwavering trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying the PM has announced a historic Rs120 billion package to support 20 million families in the face of rising inflation and price hike.
“Such a huge package has never been announced in the country history to provide substantial relief to the masses.”
Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was talking with members National Assembly including Ahmad Hussain, Muhammad Afzal and MPA Ghazanfar Abbas Cheena who called on the CM at his office on Thursday and apprised him of their constituencies’ related problems and other issues.
On the occasion, the chief minister issued directives for prompt resolution of their problems.
Usman Buzdar said that the PTI government is well-aware of the people sufferings and various measures are being taken to mitigate these problems, adding that the public would be fully benefited from the PM announced special package.
The chief minister regretted that opposition has limited its democratic role to the extent of criticism. The opposition parties have done nothing in their respective tenures, he added.
The opposition leaders could only issue routine statements as they don’t have any public welfare agenda, the CM lamented and maintained that the opposition has been trying to push back the country.
The PTI-led government will continue with its public service agenda and the critics will be left behind, he concluded.
On the occasion, the parliamentarians maintained that the district development package would ensure balanced development, adding that the CM has always given respect to the assembly members and striving for resolution of problems of their constituencies.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi held a meeting on Thursday and discussed various political and other issues.
During the meeting, Pervaiz Elahi expressed his resolve to support Imran Khan-led government as a collation partner under every circumstances.
Ch Pervaiz Elahi said, “We are PTI ally and Imran Khan is trying to move the country’s affairs forward in an efficient manner.” The PML-Q stalwart vowed that being an ally of the government PML-Q would be supporting the government on every issue and will continue its support.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan held a meeting with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in Lahore on Thursday.
The law and order situation and other important issues were discussed during the meeting. On the occasion, the chief minister said that everyone have to work together to maintain peace in the country. He said that the government is standing with bereaved families of police martyrs.
While lashing out at political opponents, Usman Buzdar said that opposition tried to do politics on national interest and their attempt to score a point such a sensitive matter is condemnable.
Punjab Law Minister Raja Muhammad Basharat, Punjab Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, prayers were offered for the departed souls of the martyred policemen.
The CM declared that the government stands with the families of the police martyrs, adding that the Punjab Government would never leave families of the martyrs alone.
He said that the interest of Pakistan has always been paramount and all should work together to make Pakistan the cradle of peace and brotherhood.
Because only through unity and harmony can the beloved homeland be taken forward – problems can be solved only by prudence and understanding, he said and added that the opposition parties also tried to politicize the national interests and the opposition acted irresponsibly and behaved inappropriately.
Meanwhile, the scheduled meeting of the Punjab Cabinet under the chair of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was postponed. The new date for the cabinet meeting will be announced later.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Daily Pakistan Group Executive Editor, Leading Analyst and Senior Journalist Qudratullah Chaudhry.
Paying homage to his valuable services in the field of journalism, he said that the demise of Qudratullah Chaudhry marked the end of a bright and historic era of journalism.
The late Qudratullah Chaudhry fostered responsible journalism through his pen. The journalistic services of the late Qudratullah Chaudhry will always be remembered.
