MURREE Snow fall – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued forecast regarding snowfall in Murree, Galyat and surrounding areas.
The Met Office has predicted snowfall in these areas from January 1 to January 6, 2025, adding that there is a 25 percent chance of snowfall on January 1.
From January 2 to January 5, there is a 60-80% chance of snowfall in Murree and surrounding areas, it said, adding that snow may also fall on January 6.
The Met office predicted that the weather will remain cloudy and extremely cold throughout the week in Murree and Galyat.
It said continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. A westerly wave is likely to approach western/upper parts of the country from 31st December (evening/night) and may persist during next few days, it said in its weekly forecast.
How Many Vehicles Enter Murree Per Day?
The administration has imposed a limit on number of vehicles for entering the hill station. As per reports, 8,000 vehicles are allowed to enter Murree per day in order to avoid any chaotic situation.
The decision was taken to put a cap on entry of vehicles after a deadly incident when several people lost their lives after being stuck on road due to snowfall and traffic jam in Murree.
