Federal Minister for Petroleum DrMusadiq Malik has termed bilateral relations with Morocco based on mutual respect, enduring friendship and strong business-to-business and people-to-people ties.

He was addressing as Chief Guest a reception hosted by Ambassador of Morocco and Dean of the African Countries, Mohamed Karmoune to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the accession of King Mohammed VI.

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori was the guest of honour on the occasion. Among the prominent personalities who attended the reception and greeted ‘Brother Karmoune’ and his spouse on the auspicious occasion included MQM-P leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) DrFarooqSattar, Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) SardarShahidLeghari, HEC Chairman DrMukhtar Ahmed, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer Mr Faisal Zahid Malik, Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Turkmenistan Ambassador AtadjanMovlamov, TahirMahmoodAshrafi, former federal minister FawadChaudhry, PPP MNA DrMirzaIkhtiarBaig, Hon Consul General of Morocco DrIshtiaqBaig, ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats, many prominent intellectuals, members of civil society and academia.

Dr Malik congratulated the Ambassador of Morocco on the 25th anniversary of the accession of King Mohammed VI. It definitely calls for celebrating the two-and-a-half decades of deep and strong bond which is growing deeper and stronger between the Monarch and his people, he said.

A cake was also cut to celebrate the King’s 25th anniversary of accession and the national anthems of the two countries were also played on the occasion.

Earlier, in his welcome address Ambassador Karmoune who was attired in Morocco’s national dress thanked the guests and said 25th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s ascension to the Throne marked a moment for the renewal of the strong ties that united the Moroccan citizens with their King and the commemoration of positive transformations and great achievements that Morocco has accomplished over the last twenty-five years under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

“It is also a time to evaluate the present and reflects on the challenges that still lie ahead to achieve a modern and prosperous State,” he said.
