Razia Sultana, the 11-year-old daughter of ille-gally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Yasin Malik, has warned the Indian Prime Minister, Nar-endra Modi, that he will be responsible if her father was harmed in any way in the prison.
Yasin Malik has been languishing in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail for the last over four years. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court of India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency in May last year in a false case registered against him.
Razia Sultana addressing the session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, today, said Yasin Malik is a symbol of resistance against Indian atrocities in illegaly occupied Jammu and Kashmir. She said her father representing all the Kashmiris has been waging a struggle against the Indian illegal occupation and human rights viola-tions by Indian troops in IIOJK for the last several decades. He is striving for the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per the UN Security Council resolutions, she added.
Razia Sultana pointed out that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put her father in a cell where he is facing the death sentence. She said Yasin Malik has sacrificed everything including health, family and wealth for the freedom of Kashmir. She said that she was only two years old when she met her father nine years ago. “I miss my father like anything. I crave to hear his voice,” she said while breaking down.
Razia Sultana said she wants to take this mo-ment to send a message to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that her father is a beacon of light for the cause of Kashmir and this death sentence cannot bring down his courage and determination for the freedom struggle. She expressed the confidence that her father will be acquitted from all the false cases registered against him and will be with his family soon.
She appealed to the UN and all world human rights organizations to play their role in ending the life sentence of Yasin Malik and ensure his reunion with his family.
The AJK Legislative Assembly echoed with slogans in favor of Yasin Malik. The AJK Legisla-tive Assembly Speaker, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, in his address said general elections are due in India next year and Narendra Modi can go to any extent to win these polls.
He said that Yasin Malik’s daughter’s address to the Legislative Assembly is a historic occasion when an eleven-year-old girl has spoken in the House. He directed the Kashmir Liberation Cell to send Razia Sultana’s speech to the concerned quarters worldwide.
The legislators from all the political parties gave a rousing welcome to the little girl by raising from their seats on her entrance into the house and attentively listened her speech while everyone was witnessed praising the innocent daughter.—KMS
