Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government is victimizing every person, even if an Indian citizen, who raises voice in support of the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The latest example of this victimization is the prize-winning Indian author, Arundhati Roy. Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, who is member of Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has approved sanction for the prosecution of Arundhati Roy and renowned Kashmiri intellectual Sheikh Showkat Hussain in a case dating back to 2010. They are facing charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including sedition for their speeches at the Kashmir Conference in Delhi on October 21, 2010.
During the Conference organised by the Committee for release of Political Prisoners (CRPP) under the banner of “Azadi – The Only Way” the speakers including Arundhati Roy had maintained that Jammu and Kashmir was never part of India and was forcibly occupied by the Indian Armed Forces and every possible effort should be made for the independence of Jammu and Kashmir from India.
A so-called social activist from occupied Kashmir Sushil Pandit, in his complaint had alleged that the speakers had called for “separation of Kashmir from India”.
Veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani Shaheed, and prominent Kashmiri intellectual Syed Abdul Rahman Gilani, were also among those charged in the case. However, they have passed away during the course of the case.—INP
