Incarcerated senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has strongly denounced the attachment of Hurriyat office in Srinagar in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the Modi regime.

Shabbir Ahmed Shah in his message from New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail termed the move as a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party regime’s sinister agenda to silence political dissent in the territory. He warned the Indian apartheid regime against pushing the Kashmiris against the wall.

Shabbir Ahmed Shah, while referring to the seething anger and anti-India sentiment in Kashmir, said the Indian government can confiscate and attach public properties but it cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ spirit for freedom rooted deep into the hearts and minds of the Kashmiris.

He said that the Modi regime should take a leaf out of history and realize the bitter reality that freedom movements, enjoying massive support of the masses at grass-roots level, do not need office to run.

He made it clear that such tactics by the Modi government could not deter the Kashmiris from pursuing their cause for which they had rendered matchless sacrifices.

It is worth mentioning here that India’s infamous National Investigation Agency attached the APHC office on the pretext of fake allegations a few days ago.

Meanwhile, APHC leaders Syed Bashir Andrabi and Khawaja Firdous, in a joint statement also condemned the confiscation of the APHC office and said that India was using new tactics to weaken the right-based freedom struggle of Kashmiris. However, they maintained New Delhi would fail in its nefarious designs.

The leaders said that India had lost the war in Jammu and Kashmir, which is evident from the fact that the country has deployed more than 900,000 occupation troops in a small region. The APHC leaders said that India can seize property by force, but it cannot seize the hearts of the Kashmiri people.—KMS
