Members of the Islamabad Club (IC) have welcomed the appointment of Cabinet Secretary Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera as the new administrator of the IC.
While talking to the Pakistan Observer on Wednesday, a large number of the Islamabad Club’s members said the fact Sukhera served in the past as President of Golf Club of Islamabad and member of the management committee of the Lahore Gymkhana is a healthy sign for the club and hoped under his administration, sports activities would flourish and the administration’s focus would shift from ‘partying’ to playing. The Federal Cabinet on Tuesday had appointed Sukhera as new administrator of Islamabad Club. Sukhera has replaced Jehanzeb Khan upon expiry of his term. Jehanzeb Khan’s administration faced criticism by some members over out-of-turn allotment of membership to new persons and for least regard to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for coronavirus in the days of the pandemic.
