In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday hit out at government of India for booking students in the territory under black law.

Her comments came a day after the Indian police in IIOJK booked students, including those pursuing MBBS, under draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for celebrating Pakistan’s victory against India in the ongoing T-20 World Cup.

Mehbooba while taking a dig at Indian Home Minister Amit Shah said, “HM’s Mann ki baat with Kashmiri youth started with slapping UAPA against medical students for celebrating Pakistan’s win.

Instead of trying to ascertain why educated youth choose to identify with Pakistan, GOI (government of India) resorting to vindictive actions. Such steps will alienate them further.”

Earlier, Amit Shah who was on a visit to IIOJK had said that he would not talk to Pakistan but to the youth of Kashmir Valley.—KMS
