The president of People Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti, has the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian government is presenting the silence of graveyard in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a victory to court.
Mehbooba Mufti talking to reporters in Srinagar welcomed the Indian Supreme Court’s decision of disregarding the Indian Government’s fresh affidavit on Article 370, which will be discussed in the apex court on day to day basis starting August 02.
She refuted the claims made the Narendra Modi government over the changes post abrogation and said the silence in Jammu and Kashmir is enforced. The ghunda has entered the house and beaten everyone inside, now it is boasting of silence inside the house, she said in a reference to BJP’s policy on Kashmir.
Mehbooba Mufti said nobody is allowed to speak the facts in occupied Kashmir. “It is not that people are even speaking against the (Indian) gov-ernment. People are not allowed to speak anything other than the government’s narrative, if one does, they are not spared. Even journalists are being booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA),” she said.—KMS
