Mehbooba Mufti was re-elected, today, as the President of Peoples Democratic Party in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for a term of three years.
According to Kashmir Media Service, one of the party leaders, who was part of the election process, said that Mehbooba Mufti was re-elected as President at the party headquarters in Srinagar. The election process was done through a voice vote, he said.
He said that Vice President Abdul Rehman Veeri proposed the name of Mehbooba Mufti as the president, which was seconded by party general Secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura.
Mehbooba Mufti has been elected as the party president for the 4th term in a row. The election to the party’s highest post is held after every three years.—KMS
