ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court has affirmed the validity of the MD CAT (Medical and Dental College Admission Test) result for November 2022.

Justices Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb passed the order while hearing plea involving the MD CAT result.

The MD CAT result of the petitioner will remain valid from November 2022 to November 2024 in the light of the court order.

THE LEGAL BATTLE FOR MD CAT RESULTS

Laiba Rauf, who successfully passed the MD CAT in November 2022, had initiated the legal battle in the Islamabad High Court. The petitioner had challenged a public notice issued by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on July 14, 2023.

The court’s decision referenced the PMDC notice, which had initially declared that entry based on the MD CAT results of 2022 would not be allowed in 2023.

However, the court held that, according to the regulations established in 2021, MD CAT results from November 2022 are valid for a duration of two years.

The court ruled that subsequent administrative decisions could not nullify the petitioner’s rights.

The judge also directed that the expenses incurred by the petitioner in pursuing the case would also be reimbursed by the PMDC.
