Inception of sacred month of Ramzan essential commodities witnessed stark rise in markets of Badin district.
The prices of sugar, edible oil, ghee, rice, vegetables, fruits, chicken meat, mutton, fish and others were seen exorbitant and sellers were claiming higher rates to earn maximum profit.
The merchants have thwarted the directives of administration and neglected the rate list of different items while price control teams across the district were seen inactive and inefficient to take legal action against such monopoly and high headedness of merchants in the markets.
The essential commodities in the markets gone up by 15 to 30 percent higher and customers were compelled to pay extra and illegitimate prices but district administration was unseen except of those directives and rate lists which were also not implemented adequately to relief the customers of Tando Bago, Talhar, Matli, Golarchi, Kadhan, Seerani, Khoski, Nindo, Pangrio and other localities of Badin district.
While talking with media personnel citizens Rehan, Asad, Ghulam Rasool and others said profiteers were claiming their own desired rates of fruits, vegetables, chicken meat, dates, fish and grocery causing lower and middle class was partially suffered to meet home budgetary.
They demanded from Chief Minister of Sindh and concerned administration for establishment of complain cell and stern legal action against profiteers and assure to control the rates within the jurisdiction.
