ISLAMABAD – Pakistani government has stepped up efforts for the safety of hikers in lush Margalla Hills.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi formally inaugurated Margalla Trails Patrol Unit on Thursday. He also met Islamabad police officers of Margalla Trails Patrol Unit and told them to perform their duties attentively.
Naqvi further inspected the motorcycle and cavalry unit and was briefed about the project.
A team of 60 police officers will patrol the Margalla trails with the aim of ensuring the safety of hikers.
Interior Minister also instructed to promptly address the issue of mobile signal coverage in the Margalla Trails area.
Pakistan’s capital Islamabad is nestled around Margalla Hills that housed range of hiking trails easily accessible. The picturesque Hills in capital offer a range of hiking trails, each with its own unique features and difficulty levels. Some trails are challenging while others are family-friendly, ending at Daman-e-Koh viewpoint.
It offers flatter walk with panoramic views, with stunning hiking experiences for citizens.
