Man injured in grenade blast

A civilian was injured after unknown persons hurled a grenade on a bunker of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) near Hawal Chowk in Srinagar on Sunday evening.

A senior police officer claimed that militants lobbed grenade towards CRPF bunker of 28 BN near Hawal Chowk. However, the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on roadside.

In this incident, one civilian namely Sameer Ahmed Malla son of Manzoor Ahmed Malla received minor injury, he was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, the officer added. Meanwhile, the troops cordoned off the whole area to nab the attackers.—KMS
