Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and other political parties have welcomed the announcement of the elections’ date.
Every political party claimed that they were ready for the elections and held their meetings to chalk out plans and strategies for election campaigns.
The momentum became after the top court also directed the relevant authorities to ensure elections on the agreed date: February 8.
PML-N President and Former Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif welcomed the announcement of the general election date and expressed the party’s readiness to enter the public courts under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
Shahbaz Sharif stated that with the arrival of the people’s leadership, happiness will return to the lives of the people.
“The Supreme Court has made it clear that dissolution of the national assembly was a serious matter,” said Shehbaz Sharif in a statement.
PTI which has been raising its voice for the last many months for timely elections in light of the Constitution has also warmly welcomed the announcement.
The PTI core committee held discussions regarding election preparations in light of the announcement of the election date. The PTI said that Chairman Imran Khan’s directives for full participation in the elections have activated all organizational structures and workers from the central level down to the local level.
It said, “Workers should initiate preparations for participation in the elections. Unprecedented public approval in the elections and, by the grace of Allah, a two-thirds majority and true freedom are awaiting us in the elections,”.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also congratulated the nation on the announcement of the election date by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The former foreign minister also said that it was the People’s Party’s turn to win the next polls. He expressed these views during interaction with the media in Karachi.
“It would have been better for the Election Commission to announce the election date on its own, without court interference,” said Bilawal.
PML-Q Chief Organizer and Punjab President Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said, “The upcoming #elections in #Pakistan are a crucial milestone for our democracy. With the announcement made by the Election Commission, Supreme Judiciary, and President, we have a great opportunity to strengthen transparency and fairness in the electoral process. Let’s ensure a level playing field for all political parties. #Election2024,”.
The Istehekam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) did not say anything as it was busy in organizing its second power show in Hafizabad and it gathered a huge crowd there.
