Civil Judge Asim Hafeez, the husband of the main accused in the Rizwana torture case, was made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) on Thursday.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) chief justice made the civil judge OSD. The LHC registrar also issued a notification in this regard, posting the civil judge as OSD in Rawalpindi. Asim Hafeez was directed to take charge in Rawalpindi before August 19 next.
It is to be noted here that Civil Judge Asim Hafeez had been summoned by a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the Rizwana torture case on August 15 last.
The judge, however, skipped the appearance before the JIT. The Rizwana torture case came to light on July 24 last. The mother of the 14-year-old housemaid had accused the judge’s wife of torture.
