Legislators direct NADRA to reduce covid certificate fee

The Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday directed NADRA to review the fee of Rs100 fixed for getting covid-19 vaccination certificate as most of poor people unable to pay for it and the government make it mandatory even for transport.

The government has already made billions of payment for social welfare programs and include the certificate fee also one of these programs.

Chairman PAC Rana Tanveer said NADRA is not a commercial entity rather the government established it for facilitation of government.

Responding to committee direction, newly appointed Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik promised that he would check, discuss and then reply to the committee after deliberation with other officials.

However, he informed the PAC that Rs100 vaccination certification fee is already subsidized and behind it the authority performed a lot of wo-
rks.
