LAHORE – The provincial capital Lahore is set to get three dedicated tracks for bikers and those riding cycles as the Punjab government takes new steps to improve traffic flow in the metropolis.
Maryam Nawaz led government pushed for eco-friendly transport and Lahore Development Authority (LDA) engineering wing started working on cost estimates and design for the project.
The proposed tracks will be constructed on key roads, including Ferozepur Road from Lahore Canal to Lahore Bridge. Additionally, dedicated tracks will be established on both sides of Gulberg Main Boulevard, from Kalma Chowk to Siddique Trade Center.
A third track will also be developed along Jail Road, running on both sides of the artery.
Chief Engineer at LDA said these dedicated tracks will streamline traffic movement by separating different modes of transport. These tracks are said to be created in a modern European style, for smooth travel for two wheeler riders.
The provincial government also received and approved initial project presentation, paving the way for further development.
This initiative is expected to improve road safety, reduce congestion, and promote sustainable transportation in the city.
