Lahore experiences coldest day of winter as temperature drops to 04°C

LAHORE – Lahore experienced the coldest day of this winter season as the temperature dropped to 04°C on Thursday.

Cold waves will continue to persist in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these weather conditions, mainly cold and dry weather will continue to persist in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Thursday night and the next two days.

Very cold weather is expected in Murree, Galiyat and surroundings. Dense fog/smog (in patches) is expected in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Kasur, Okara, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan and surroundings during night and morning hours. Frost is expected in Pothohar region and few plain areas during morning hours.

Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 04-06°C on Friday and 03-05°C on Saturday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Extremely cold weather prevailed in Murree and upper districts. Fog persisted in places of north/east Punjab.

Murree remained the coldest place in Pakistan where the temperature dropped 01°C below the freezing point. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 46 per cent.

In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 04°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 92 per cent.
