The labourer union representatives, local labourers, civil society member and political party leaders organized a protest demonstration and sit in on 7th consecutive day on Pak Afghan border Torkham demanding to reopen border of pedestrians.
Talking this scribe on phone, Farman Ali Shinwari, the president of Torkham laborer union told that security officials on Torkham have assured them to reopen the border next week.
Security officials have said that they have sent border reopening schedule to Islamabad for approval. Laborer union official stated. According to Farman Ali Shinwari, the wing commander of Khyber Rifles force has ensured them, the border will be remained open three days a week (Thursday, Saturday and Tuesday) from next week.
Another young leader of Pakistan People’s party, Shah Rahman Shinwari accompanying the protesting laborers told that our protest would continue until and unless the implementation of border reopening decision of today’s negotiations.
According to Farhman Ali Shinwari, the local elders Malak Darya Khan Afridi, MPA Shafiq Sher Afridi, Qomi Watan Party leader Ali Rahman Shalmani also addressed the protesting laborers and showed their solidarity with them. The leaders ensured full support to the laborers who had been suffer due to border closure and said they would convey their grievances to the concern authorities to reopen the border for common people.
